Share sensitive documents with the right people.
To send sensitive documents, a reserved space replaces the attachment and the transfer link: you choose who is invited and what each person can do, and you know who opened each document.
Example: who does what in a business sale file
- The firm's teamUploads, downloads, and organizes the documents.Client documentsDraft agreementsFinancial documents
- The clientUploads their documents and downloads the draft agreements.Client documentsDraft agreementsFinancial documents
- The client's accountantConsults the file, with no upload or download.Client documentsDraft agreementsFinancial documentsView only
Example settings. Everyone in a space sees the same documents; for each person, you choose whether they can write, upload, or download. For someone to see fewer documents, open a separate space for them.
01Chapter
Access permissions, participant by participant.
The same example as a table: what each person can do in the file's space.
| Criterion | Write | Upload | Download |
|---|---|---|---|
| The firm's team | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| The client | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| The client's accountant | Yes | No | No |
Example settings. In Nestor, you set these permissions space by space, and you can adjust them person by person. Everyone sees the same documents. Every view and every download is logged.
02Chapter
What email and transfer links do not guarantee.
Email gets around.
A message can be forwarded, sent to the wrong person, or kept indefinitely in several inboxes.
Links get shared.
With many transfer services, anyone who has the link can download the file, and you do not know who did.
No shared history.
Versions, conversations, and read receipts stay scattered across several tools.
Protection depends on every send.
Encrypting an attachment and sending the password through another channel takes discipline every single time.
03Chapter
Eight points to check before sharing a confidential document.
Open each point to see how Nestor handles it.
01Know who receives it
Only the people invited to the space can access it, with a link or a code received by email.
02Limit what each person can do
Space by space, you decide who can upload, download, or only view. For someone to see fewer documents, open a separate space for them.
03Know who opened it
For each document, you see who viewed or downloaded it.
04Mark documents
Add a watermark to shared documents.
05Protect transfer and storage
Exchanges encrypted in transit, files encrypted at rest by the hosting provider, fully sovereign European hosting.
06Keep a record
Every upload, view, and validation is logged and can be exported.
07Send large files
No size limit per file uploaded to Nestor. Total storage depends on your plan.
08Protect your teams' accounts
SSO and two-factor authentication with a passkey.
04Chapter

07Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a file transfer service?
A transfer service sends a file. Nestor opens a space reserved for the people you invite: you set who can upload or download, you know who opened each document, and the conversation stays in the same place.
Do the people I work with need to install anything?
No. They sign in with a link or a code received by email, from a computer or a phone.
Are documents encrypted?
Yes. Exchanges are encrypted in transit (TLS) and files are encrypted at rest by our hosting provider, in France, on fully sovereign European infrastructure.
Can we send large files?
Yes. There is no size limit per file uploaded to Nestor; only imports from a connector are limited to 100 MB per file. Total storage depends on your plan.
Can we tell whether a document has been opened?
Yes. For each document, you see who viewed or downloaded it, participant by participant.
Who should see your next sensitive documents?
Bring a confidential file: we will show you how its access permissions are set in a Nestor space.
- Fully sovereign European hosting
- No account to create for the people you work with
