Tenant insurance certificates: collect them every year.

A campaign requests the certificate from all your tenants, each one uploads it to their own space, and you see at a glance which ones are missing.

01Today

One simple document, hundreds of reminders.

The renters insurance certificate is requested when the tenant moves in, then every year. Across a portfolio of several hundred units, that adds up to as many emails, incomplete answers and rows to tick in a spreadsheet.

  • Certificates received by email, by mail or as a photo, to file by hand.
  • Certificates in the name of a former occupant, or for another address.
  • A tracking spreadsheet to keep up to date, unit by unit.
  • Reminders written one by one, without knowing who has already answered.

02What you request

One document, one deadline, and that is it.

A certificate campaign does not need to be complicated: one or two requests are enough, with the expected format and the deadline.

  • DocumentThe renters insurance certificateFor the current year, as a PDF or a photo. You validate it, or send it back with a reason: wrong address, expired period.
  • DateThe policy renewal dateTo know when to request the certificate again next year.
  • ConfirmationUp-to-date contact detailsThe tenant confirms that their email address and phone number have not changed.

    Validate the certificates

A certificate in the wrong name or out of date? Send it back with the reason: the tenant sees “Correction requested” and knows what to fix.

04Scope and limits

The tenant must prove they are insured. Nestor helps you ask for it.

The French residential lease law of July 6, 1989 (loi du 6 juillet 1989, article 7 g) requires the tenant to insure against rental risks and to prove it when the keys are handed over, then every year at the landlord's request, with a certificate from their insurer.

Nestor organizes the request and the follow-up. Reading the certificates and deciding what to do when a tenant is not insured remain your responsibility.

Nestor does not check the content of the certificates: your teams validate them or send them back with a reason.
By email and in the app for tenants, also in the browser for your team. No text messages.

05Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Do tenants have to create an account?

No. They open their space with a link or a code received by email, or with their Google or Microsoft account.

Can we remind only those who have not answered?

Yes. Scheduled reminders stop automatically for tenants who have uploaded their certificate.

Can we add new tenants during the year?

Yes. You add recipients to a campaign under way, then send them the request: each receives it in their own space.

Can a tenant send a photo of their certificate?

Yes, if you accept it: each request sets the allowed formats, PDF or image, and the expected number of files.

Can the certificates go into our files?

They can be downloaded as an archive or exported to SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive, S3 or SFTP. A deeper integration goes through Nestor's API.
